OUR VISION
Buildings provide a privileged access to the past and an efficient way to convey history to next generations. Moreover, the existing building stock is at the core of pressing environmental and social challenges.
To help maintain our built heritage, we strive to transfer our knowledge and foster collaboration between researchers, practicioners and institutions. At the crossroads of history, architecture and engineering, our goal is minimal intervention and maximum conservation, without compromising future uses.
WHAT WE DO
The Competence Center Preservation offers expertise on the topics of building archaeology and assessment, preservation, construction history and heritage, art and architecture history among others. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we develop strategies for the informed and sustainable preservation of heritage objects and the sustainable transformation of the building stock.
